
Environment and Climate Change Committee (ECCC) meets with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MoAL) on the Livestock Bill of Bhutan 2025
On 14 May 2025, the Environment & Climate Change Committee met with the officials from the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock led by the Honourable Minister to discuss the Livestock Bill of Bhutan 2025 at the Ga-kyid Khangzang. At the request of the Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock made a comprehensive presentation aimed at transforming the livestock sector to drive economic and sustainable growth.
The presentation outlined the key objectives of the Bill including harmonizing the provisions with the Constitution and the broader legal framework, as well as defining clear roles and responsibilities of the stakeholders. The Ministry also highlighted the extensive stakeholder consultations conducted and the subsequent actions taken in response to the feedback received.
