On 21 May 2025, the Good Governance Committee of the National Assembly held a consultation meeting with the Department of Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, at Ga-kyid Khangzang based on the Local government submission to reconsider the establishment of a Regional office for Infrastructure Development (ROID).
The meeting focused on the recent structural reforms within the Engineering Agency as part of the broader civil service transformation. The agency presented its mandate, structure, and working modality, highlighting efforts to optimize human resources, improve infrastructure quality, and ensure specialization.
The Ministry emphasised the importance of Comprehensive National Development Plan (CNDP) which is used as a tool for prioritizing infrastructure investments in the 13th Five Year Plan. Based on this 7 ROIDs will be established from July, 2025.
