Motion on Healthcare Service Improvement

Motion on Healthcare Service Improvement

A Member of the Good Governance Committee (GGC), the Member from Bongo-Chapcha constituency moved the motion on Healthcare Service Improvement in the House today.

The Member submitted that despite the dedication of our healthcare professionals, many centers are grappling with issues such as lack of clear ownership of the 13th Five-Year Plan between National Medical Services (NMS) and local governments, shortages of doctors leading to excessive administrative burdens and burnout, discontinuation of Outreach Clinics (ORC), and inconsistent medication supplies. These challenges call for immediate attention to ensure all citizens have access to high-quality healthcare.

During the deliberation, members also submitted some additional recommendations, which were adopted through show of hands.

The House adopted the motion on Healthcare Service Improvement with a total of 33 Yes, 4 Abstain, and 2 No, out of 39 Members present and voting. The House directed the Committee to reformulate the recommendations into broad-based recommendations to be transmitted to the Ministry of Health for implementation.
