The Women, Children and Youth Committee of the Fourth National Assembly Holds its First Meeting.

The Women, Children, and Youth Committee held its first meeting on 19 March, 2024, chaired  by Hon. Dorji Wangmo, Member of Parliament from Kengkhar Weringla constituency.

The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the task assigned by the House  Committee  during the Plenary held on 12 March, 2024, mainly to review the  effectiveness of the Drungkhag Administration in providing services to the community.

The Committee members were divided  into three sub-groups, with each group assigned to research five Drungkhags on the service delivery methods and its effectiveness in meeting the needs of the people.. Research assistants were tasked with developing a questionnaire in both languages for convenience. The findings of the research are to be presented at the second Committee  meeting scheduled on 22 April, 2024. Additionally, the Committee also decided to consult and seek  presentations from relevant agencies.  The Committee also discussed the formulation of an annual work plan, crucial for enhancing committee’s functionality.

The Women, Children, and Youth Committee consist of nine members, five from the ruling party and four from the opposition party.
