Constituency Visit: Dewathang-Gomdar constituency, Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag

The Member of the National Assembly, Hon.  Tshering Penjor, is currently visiting his constituency - Dewathang-Gomdar. On Friday, 5 April 2024, an entry meeting was held with Dasho Dzongda and sector heads of the Dzongkhag Administration. During the meeting a brief overview of the draft 13th Five-Year Plan of Samdrupjongkhar Dzongkhag was presented to the  Hon’ble Member followed by highlights of achievements made in the 12th Five-Year Plan.

Some of the issues raised were the absence of academic buildings, dorms, and kitchens in schools in the Dzongkhag, area constraints for the construction of the Integrated Check Point (ICP) and issue of the completion of the office but currently not being used.

The Dzongda also provided updates on the construction of the largest Hindu Mandir, known as Bhairav Kunda Mandir in Jomotsangka.

In the following weeks, the Member will continue his visit and further engage with thromede and the people in the five gewogs of his constituency starting from 6th April till 22 April 2023.
