The Legislative Committee of the Fourth National Assembly holds its inaugural meeting

The first meeting of the Legislative Committee was held on 15 March, 2024 chaired by Hon. Kuenga, Member of Parliament from Nyishog Saephu constituency.

The meeting was held to consider the tasks assigned to the Committee during the second plenary meeting held on 12 March 2024. The Committee was mainly tasked with the review and recommendation of amendments to laws exhibiting inconsistencies, contradictions, and ambiguities of laws in the Law Review report by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). 

The Committee met and resolved that the committee secretary, supported by research assistants, would present their comprehensive research findings in the next meeting. This initiative aims to facilitate informed decision-making and foster clarity in legislative processes. The next meeting will be scheduled at the earliest on a convenient date.The Legislative Committee has nine Members comprising five representatives from the Ruling and four from the Opposition party.
