Supplementary Budget Bill 2022-23 and Budget Appropriation Bill 2023-24 presented to House along with Report for the Fiscal Year 2023-24-DZ

Finance Minister Namgay Tshering presented the Budget Report for the Fiscal Year(FY) 2023-24 including the introduction of the Budget Appropriation Bill for FY 2023-24 and the Supplementary Budget Appropriation Bill for FY 2022-23 to the House today.

The FY 2023-24 budget is aimed at ‘Building stronger institutions through strategic reforms while ensuring a sustainable fiscal path and smooth transition’. With this aim, the Budget Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2023-24 has been projected with a sum not exceeding Nu.85,522.536 million.

The Supplementary Budget Appropriation Bill for FY 2022-23 has been proposed with a sum not exceeding Nu.2,317.377 million in addition to Nu. 81,827.311 million approved by Parliament last Summer. The revised budget for 2022-23 after supplementary appropriation will be a sum not exceeding Nu.84,144.688 million.

The Budget Bills has been referred to the Economic and Finance Committee to prepare for the Third Reading on 19th June 2023.
