Re-deliberation on the Biological Corridor Nine Bill of Bhutan, 2023

The Minister for Finance, on behalf of the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, moved the motion for re-deliberation on the National Council’s recommendations for the Biological Corridor Nine Bill of Bhutan 2023 today. 

The Chairperson of the Environment and Climate Change Committee (ECCC), Hon’ble Gyem Dorji, presented the changes adopted by the National Council on the Bill. The National Council had adopted changes on Sections 3, 4, 10, 12 and Annexure II, and deletions of Sections 5, 13, 14, and whole of 18 from the Bill. 

The recommendations of the National Council were unanimously endorsed through show of hands. As per the required procedure for passing the Bills, the Members voted on and adopted the Biological Corridor Nine Bill 2023, with all 41 Members present and voting, voting in favour. 

The Bill will be submitted to His Majesty the King for Royal Assent.
