Pay Revision Bill of Bhutan 2023 adopted

The National Assembly re-deliberated on the Pay Revision Bill of Bhutan 2023 today. The motion to re-deliberate the three recommendations received from National Council of Bhutan on the Bill was moved by the Minister for Finance. Hon’ble Kinga Penjor, Chairperson of the Economic and Finance Committee presented the committee’s review on the National Council’s recommendations for amendments followed by deliberation in the House.

The House endorsed the National Council’s amendment on Foreign Service Utility Expenses for the Head of the Mission/Embassy/Consulate General.

The House could not endorse Council’s recommendation to repeal the 21 days of annual leave for the Civil Servant and the recommendation for a new section on the Duty Free Shop Membership for the MPs.

All the 44 Members present and voting, voted in favor and passed the Bill. 

The Bill will be submitted to His Majesty the King for the Royal Assent.
