New Resident Representative of UNDP Bhutan calls on the Hon’ble Speaker-DZ

The new Resident Representative of UNDP Bhutan, Mr. Mohammad Younus called on to the Hon’ble Speaker today. The Resident Representative was accompanied by the team from UNDP including Mr. Khurshid Alam, the Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Bhutan. 

The Hon’ble Speaker extended a formal welcome to Mr. Mohammad Younus to Bhutan and to the National Assembly. The Speaker expressed gratitude to UNDP for always supporting Bhutan and expressed his hopes that UNDP will continue to support the Parliament in the field of capacity building of the Parliamentarians and the Secretariat staff, and digitization of Parliamentary Services.

Mr. Mohammad Younus congratulated the Hon’ble Speaker and the Parliament for the number of Bills passed during their ongoing tenure. He also expressed his desire to work with the Parliament and the Government and mentioned that UNDP will always support Bhutan within its capability.

Mr. Younus is succeeding Ms. Azusa Kubota as the UNDP Bhutan Resident Representative.

UNDP has been supporting Bhutan since 1973 and has had a resident presence in the country since 1979.
