National Assembly of Bhutan conducts Post Session Plenary

The Members of the National Assembly today met for the Post Session Plenary in the Lhen-zom Khangzang following the conclusion of the Summer Session. The plenary meeting chaired by the Hon'ble Speaker was attended by the Opposition Leader. Prior to the main agenda of the plenary, the Hon’ble Speaker expressed gratitude to everyone for the successful conclusion of the Ninth Session.

The Plenary discussed a variety of areas such as feedback on the conduct of the Session, preparation for the 10th Session, support to MPs with Assistant Research Officers, office space for Members of the Parliament, declaration of the voting and issues related to constituency visit.

The Public Accounts Committee will work on the two performance audit reports on Irrigation and Preparedness for Cyber Security.

As a mandate, the Member of Parliament will visit their constituency to disseminate the outcome of the Summer Session and also to undertake the oversight role to monitor the developmental activities in their respective constituencies.
