
National Assembly adopts the Property Tax Bill
Before the Finance Minister moved the motion to adopt the Property Tax Bill of Bhutan 2022, the Committee presented its review report on Section 22 and Sections 43, 46, and 50 under Appeal Procedure.
With regard to Section 22, the committee proposed a revision of the concession rate on building tax payable on protected traditional houses in the urban centers from 50% to 70%. The Committee also submitted their recommendations on Section 43, 46 and 50. The House supported all the recommendations.
The Finance Minister, the member In-charge of the Bill, moved the motion to pass the Bill. The National Assembly passed the Property Tax Bill of Bhutan 2022 today with 42 members voting YES, 3 Abstain out of 45 members present and voting.
