Hon’ble Speaker meets the students from Harvard University
Hon’ble Speaker met with the students from Harvard University yesterday the 14th of March 2023. The Hon'ble Speaker was accompanied by Hon’ble Dawa and Hon’ble Passang Dorji, Members of the National Assembly of Bhutan.
Welcoming the students, the Hon'ble Speaker mentioned that it is always refreshing and happy to have young guests full of excitement and energy.
The interactive meeting saw a wide range of question answers on topics ranging from Bhutan’s transition through democracy, working relationship of Bhutan’s ruling and opposition political party, impact of Covid-19 on the students along with way forwards, challenges of economic development in the country, export and import including the balance of payment, recent Bills passed from the Parliament, issues of brain drain with losing youth to Australia, Gross National Happiness (GNH) and composition of the Parliament of Bhutan among many others.
The students are in the Country under the Bhutan Trek Harvard Students 2023 program coordinated by Mr. Kinga Tshering.
