
Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bhutan calls on the Hon Speaker of National Assembly
Ambassador Sudhakar Dalela of India to Bhutan paid a courtesy call on to the Hon’ble Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan today the 29th of September 2022.
Hon'ble Speaker extended a warm reception to the Ambassador and wished him the best for his stay in the country. The Ambassador thanked the Hon’ble Speaker for the hospitality and expressed his interest in strengthening the relationship and bond between the two countries.
Besides several activities that promote the relationships, they have also noted the critical role that the two parliaments can play in further strengthening and consolidating the strong bond. They shared the need to strengthen the Parliamentary Exchanges programs. The India-Bhutan Parliamentary Friendship group was formed in January 2019 to provide a platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge sharing. The Speaker has extended gratitude to the Parliament of India for the invitation of the Bhutanese parliamentary visit to the Indian Parliament in the month of February 2023. The Speaker also thanked the government of India for the financial and other support to the developmental activities.
The Ambassador has opened the scope for the capacity building of the parliamentary Secretariat officials.
Ambassador Sudhakar Dalela assumed office from 11 August 2022.
