Agreement on the Movement of Traffic-in-Transit between the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Protocol thereto

The National Assembly today tabled the third reading on the Agreement on the Movement of Traffic-in-Transit between the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Protocol thereto. The Chairperson of the Legislative Committee, Hon’ble Tshewang Lhamo submitted that only clerical changes have been made and that there are no changes in the articles. She also reported that the Committee’s recommendations are the results of several consultation meetings held with the relevant agencies and experts.

The House deliberated on all 20 Articles of the Agreement and 20 Clauses of the Protocols to Agreement and  the recommendations made by the Legislative Committee. The House through majority show of hands approved all the recommendations.

The House will convene tomorrow to formally ratify both the Agreement and the Protocol.
