𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧
The five-member Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament of Bhutan met yesterday to elect its new Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson.
In accordance with the established rules and procedures of PAC, Hon. Sonam Tashi, National Assembly member from Lamgong-Wangchang Constituency was elected as the Chairperson, and Hon. Jamyang Namgyal, National Council member from Pemagatshel Dzongkhag as the Deputy Chairperson of the PAC.
The election follows the conclusion of a one-year term served by the former Chairperson, Hon. Phuntsho Rapten, Eminent Member, National Council and the former Deputy Chairperson, Hon. Loday Tsheten, National Assembly member from Gangzur-Minjey Constituency. The newly elected leadership in the Public Accounts Committee is set to continue the Committee's important role in overseeing public expenditure and ensuring accountability.
