Delivering the keynote address at the inauguration, the Speaker commended Heli Bhutan for launching a service that marks a major milestone in the aviation sector. He emphasized the initiativeโs importance in enhancing national connectivity, strengthening emergency services, promoting tourism, and supporting Bhutanโs overall economic growth.
He further stated that the venture will complement the services provided by the Royal Bhutan Helicopter Services and contribute to national priorities such as the Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative.
Heli Bhutan Pvt. Ltd., a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) company led by a Bhutanese CEO, is expected to commence operations by the end of April 2025 with a new Airbus H-125 helicopter. The company has recruited and trained 20 Bhutanese employees and will offer scenic flights, passenger transport, aerial work, and emergency response services.
The launch of Heli Bhutan signals a new chapter in Bhutanโs aviation journey, showcasing the potential of public-private partnership in nation building.
