The Women, Children and Youth Committee holds consultation with Chithuen Phendey Association (CPA)`

On 30 October 2024, the Women, Children and Youth Committee convened a consultative meeting with Chithuen Phendhey Association (CPA), a Civil Society Organization, at the Lhen-Zom Khangzang, National Assembly of Bhutan. The meeting discussed pressing issues in the society, particularly impacting vulnerable groups such as women, children and youth, including domestic violence, substance abuse disorder and unemployment among others.

The critical role of parents in creating a safe and supportive environment for their children, and the need for nurturing a child right from a very young age was emphasized. The discussions highlighted the necessity for targeted support and resources to foster a crime-free society in Bhutan, and the need for behavioral change.

CPA Bhutan continues to advocate for comprehensive strategies to address these challenges, ensuring that vulnerable groups receive the support they need to thrive.
