The Women, Children and Youth Committee holds consultation with Chairperson of the National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC)

The Women, Children and Youth Committee (WCYC) of the National Assembly held a consultation meeting with the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC), Kesang Deki, Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat yesterday at the Ga-Kyid Khangzang, National Assembly of Bhutan. This consultation was carried out as part of an ongoing review of the status of the NCWC, which was subsumed under the Department of Education Program, Ministry of Education and Skills Development as part of the civil service transformation exercise in the year 2022.

The consultation provided a valuable platform for WCYC members to engage in meaningful discussions about the NCWC’s mandates, the challenges it faces in advancing and protecting the rights of women and children in Bhutan, and the views of the Commission on the structural transformation of the NCWC.
