The secretariat staff attended the training on Technical Writing

On October 15, 2024, the Secretariat staff, including Assistant Research Officers (AROs), Research Assistants (RAs), and Committee Secretaries (CSs), participated in a training session organized by the Deputy Speaker. The session, held at Lhen-Zom Khangzang, National Assembly of Bhutan, featured a presentation on technical writing by Hon'ble Member Naiten Wangchuck.

The session emphasized the importance of communicating technical information clearly depending on the audience; which could constitute executives,  technical experts, students, laypeople, and other clients. Participants were taught to write in a concise, clear, and direct style, maintaining a professional tone, and using structured formats with short paragraphs and clear transitions. Besides, the session also covered effective presentation techniques, including organization of content in a logical and coherent manner for effective engagement of the audience.

Additionally, the training addressed various technical writing formats, such as letters, memos, and reports, stressing the need for objectivity and evidence-driven content. By enhancing skills in producing precise and quantitative documentation, the session aimed to improve the quality of reporting within the Secretariat and support informed decision-making. Participants engaged in discussions and exercises, underscoring the practical application of these skills in their profession.
