The National Assembly of Bhutan held its preliminary meeting on 21 October 2024 to screen the agenda items received for the Second Session of the Fourth Parliament of Bhutan, which is scheduled to commence from 14 November 2024. 

During the meeting, the Speaker shared insights from his recent participation in the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly and related meetings held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 13 to 17 October 2024. His reflections underscored the importance of international collaboration and the exchange of legislative practices.

The Members of Parliament including the Cabinet Ministers actively shared their views and support to various agenda items. The preliminary agenda items, shaped by extensive consultations with stakeholders, reflect a broad range of interests and address pressing public concerns.

As the assembly gears up for the upcoming winter session, the focus remains on fostering dialogue and advancing the legislative agenda for the benefit of the nation.
