The National Assembly Members visit Tashichhodzong Dukhang to receive the blessings of Lhamoi Dromche

Led by the Speaker and the Leader of the Opposition, National Assembly Members visited the Tashichhodzong Dhugkhang to witness and receive blessings from the revered  Pelden Lhamoi Dromche. The religious sacred ritual is being conducted by the Zhung Dratshang in honor of Pelden Lhamo, Bhutan’s protecting deity and was presided over by  Yonten Lopon Trulku Namgyel.

Instituted between 1705 and 1709 by Je Kinga Gyeltshen, the first reincarnation of Jampel Dorji and son of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgeyl, the Lhamoi Dromche is based on the legend of Pelden Lhamo appearing before Je Kinga Gyeltshen during meditation and performing a dance. The Dromche will begin on September 9, 2024, leading up to the annual Thimphu Tshechu, which will take place on September 13 and 14, 2024.
