The Ministry of Finance (MoF) Secretary and the Cabinet Secretariat presented a presentation on Project Tied Assistance (PTA) and Small Development Projects (SDP) to the Economic and Finance
Today, the Hon’ble Secretary of Cabinet Secretariat along with officials of the Cabinet Secretariat and Ministry of Finance presented a comprehensive update on the Project Tied Assistance (PTA) and Small Development Projects (SDP) process, criteria and protocols of project selection based on the 13th FYP to the Economic and Finance Committee (EFC) at the Lhen-Zom Khangzang, National Assembly of Bhutan. The primary purpose of this presentation was to inform EFC members and Members of Parliament about the progress status of these significant initiatives.
The presentation highlighted the allocation of substantial funding for 78 PTA projects, which are strategically focused on critical sectors such as railways, roads, education, and health. Members stressed the importance of ensuring equitable budget distribution among all Gewogs and Dzongkhags, taking into account factors such as size and population density to achieve a fair allocation of resources.
Additionally, the SDP is set to allocate funds to local governments in line with 13th FYP aimed at developing essential infrastructure and services in communities nationwide. This initiative is designed to foster economic growth through enhanced and improved public service delivery across Bhutan.
