The Hon’ble Speaker and Members of Parliament attends the Rhododendron Festival

The Hon'ble Speaker, the Hon'ble Leader of the Opposition, and Members of Parliament from the Radi-Sakteng and Bomdeling-Jamkhar constituencies attended the inauguration of the Rhododendron Festival at Shaytemi, Merak Gewog, in Trashigang Dzongkhag on 3 April 2025. The festival will run until 9 April 2025.

On the 2nd and 3rd days of Rhododendron Week, the Hon'ble Speaker and the Hon'ble Leader of the Opposition graced the occasion as the guests of honor, respectively. This event aims to promote tourism in eastern Bhutan. Merak is home to 41 species of rhododendrons, out of the approximately 48 species found in Bhutan.
