Parliament Members at the 2024 Regional Conference on Early Childhood Development
On the invitation of the Save the Children, Bhutan Country Office, Hon. Kamal Gurung from National Assembly and Hon. Kencho Tshering from the National Council is currently attending the 2024 Regional Conference on Early Childhood Development scheduled from 27 - 30 May 2024 at Penang, Malaysia. Hon. Kamal Gurung led the Bhutanese delegation and delivered the keynote address at the plenary session on 29 May, 2024.
The conference is organized by the Early Childhood Development Council, Penang, Malaysia and the Asia Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) with the theme - "Investing in Early Childhood Development: An effective pathway for building resilience and boosting sustainable development". It aims to provide policymakers with tools and strategies to address current challenges in early childhood.
Representatives from about 45 countries in the Asia Pacific region are attending the conference.
