
National Assembly Committees Prepare for upcoming Public Hearing with a one day preparatory Workshop
A one day preparatory workshop was conducted for the Economic and Finance Committee and the Good Governance Committee at the Namgay Heritage, Thimphu today. The workshop is aimed to prepare the two committees of the National Assembly for their upcoming Public Hearings.
The Economic and Finance Committee is tentatively scheduled to conduct its Public Hearing on 30 April 2025 concerning the Economic Stimulus Program (ESP). The primary objectives of the hearing are to:
To update the public on the progress of ESP and issues on the ground;
To assess the effectiveness of ESP delivery and its subsequent impact on reviving the economy.
Meanwhile, the Good Governance Committee is planning to conduct its Public Hearing on 16 May 2025, focusing on Public Service Delivery. The objectives of this hearing include:
Strengthening and identifying service gaps and enhancing efficiency of the Local government;
Understanding user experiences and expectations;
Assess HR needs;
Enhance accessibility and reliability of ICT infrastructure.
The Preparatory Workshop today was facilitated by Mr. Sangay Khandu and Mr. Nima from Center for Local Governance and Research with support from Project ‘Nyamdrel II, Support to CSOs and Parliament and HELVETAS, funded by the European Union.
