Marriage (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan, 2024

The Member In-charge of the Bill, the Chairperson for the Legislative Committee, moved the motion to introduce the Marriage (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan, 2024 for deliberation to the House.


The Chairperson submitted that the amendment of the Bill related to just one provision on the legal marriageable age for women. The amendment is proposed to reflect the legal marriageable age for women. 


The House unanimously supported the motion and the Bill was referred to the Legislative Committee for its further review and deliberation. The Bill will be submitted for Third Reading on 20 June 2024.
