Human Rights and Foreign Relations Committee (HRFRC) meets with the Department of Immigration, Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Human Rights and Foreign Relations Committee held a consultation meeting with the Department of Immigration today in Lhen-Zom Khangzang, Gyelyong Tshogkhang, chaired by Hon. Rinzin Dorji, Chairperson of the HRFRC. 

The Director of Immigration presented the mandate of the Department and on the Zonation and Point of Entries (POEs) along with the rationale behind the zonation system.  

Discussions were also carried out on the Port of entry/exit concerning the legal provisions, designated port of entry/exit, process, identity document requirement, notified trade routes and informal routes were discussed during the meeting. The Committee was also informed that the Darranga check-post in Samdrup Jongkhar will be in operation soon.
