First and Second Reading of the National Assembly (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2024
The Chairperson of the Legislative Committee, Member from Nyisho-Saephu constituency, moved the motion for the First Reading of the National Assembly (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2024. The House through show of hands supported the motion.
During the Second Reading of the Bill, the Chairperson submitted that some provisions of the National Assembly Act, 2008 were required to be amended to ensure the effective functioning of the House.
The House then referred the Amendment Bill to the Legislative Committee for its further review and the Committee will have to submit its review report for Third Reading on 27 June 2024.
