Cabinet Secretariat presents the draft 13 th Five Year Plan (FYP) to the Members of the National Assembly
On the invitation of the
Economics and Finance Committee, the Cabinet Affairs and Strategic
Coordination (OCASC) under the Cabinet Secretariat made a presentation on the
draft 13th Five Year Plan (FYP) to the Members of the National
Assembly.
A comprehensive presentation including the overview, long term strategic framework, 13 FYP outcomes, resource allocation, Outcome, Outcome KPIs, Output, and Output KPIs of the Four Clusters were made. The Resource allocation formula for the local government and local government budget was also presented.
The presentation was followed by a question and answer session. The members raised their concerns regarding the resource allocation formula, basis of the long term strategic plan, issues pertaining to lack of human resources and the need for policy reforms amongst others.
This engagement provided the opportunity for Committee members and parliamentarians to understand the intricacies of the proposed plan and seek clarifications. This also highlights the parliament's commitment to informed decision-making and dialogue on matters pertaining to economic, national and local development policies.
The presentation chaired
by the Hon Speaker and the Dy Speaker was also attended by the Hon. Finance
Minister, Finance Secretary, Cabinet Secretary and Director and officials
of OCASC.
