The Good Governance Committee recently completed an Eastern tour focused on assessing public service delivery at community centers as part of the preparatory process for upcoming Public Hearing. The team conducted extensive consultations and field visits from 20 March to 6 April 2025. The team visited Bumthang, Pema Gatshel, and Samdrup Jongkhar in the Central and Eastern regions.
The main objectives of the consultations were to:
a) Identify and address service gaps and inefficiencies within local government service delivery,
b) Understand the experiences and expectations of service users,
c) Assess human resource requirements, and
d) Improve the accessibility and reliability of ICT infrastructure.
This initiative is part of the Committeeโs preparations for an upcoming public hearing on Public Service Delivery at the local government level, with particular emphasis on services provided through community centers. The Hearing is to be held sometime before the Fourth Session of Parliament in 2025.
