The Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan met with participants of the 'Impact Safari' from the GNH Centre Bhutan at Lhen-zom Khangzang today. The delegation was warmly welcomed with a traditional Marchang ceremony administered by the Secretary General of the National Assembly.
In his address to the group, the Speaker emphasized Bhutanโs development philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH), highlighting its four pillars and nine domains that promote holistic development. He underlined the Parliamentโs role in safeguarding GNH through key legislations such as the Environment Conservation Act and also highlighted His Majesty the Kingโs visionary initiatives of the Gelephu Mindfulness City.
The Speaker encouraged participants to become ambassadors of GNH, promoting compassion, sustainability, and collective well-being. The event concluded with a presentation on Bhutanese Democracy by the Secretary General and a guided tour of the Parliament Hall.
