The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) held a meeting on 4 April 2025 with the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) delegation and the Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority (RAA), chaired by the Deputy Speaker at Lhen-Zom Khangzang. This meeting focused on enhancing the collaboration between the PAC, Parliament, and the RAA to improve financial accountability and governance in Bhutan.
The discussion centered on strengthening the performance and capacity of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) to ensure better management of public resources. The IDI delegation, comprising members from the INTOSAI Board, shared insights into their global efforts to build the capacities of SAIs in developing countries.
The committee members shared a brief overview of their roles in their respective parliaments, emphasizing the significance of their work in ensuring public funds are efficiently managed and accounted for. This exchange highlighted the crucial role of PACs in promoting transparency and accountability.
