Phuenstholing, Bhutan- December 29, 2024 -The Secretariat to the National Commission for Women and Children, with support from UNICEF, is conducting a pivotal three-day workshop from December 27 to 29, 2024, in Phuentsholing, Bhutan. This workshop focuses on developing an Action Plan and conducting a comprehensive consultation on the Concluding Observations of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
The primary objective of the workshop is to collaboratively review Bhutanโs CRC Concluding Observations, identifying and addressing key priorities for childrenโs rights in the Country. Participants have worked together to formulate a strategic action plan to improve the implementation of CRC recommendations, reinforce monitoring frameworks for the CRC reporting cycle, and strengthen cooperation among stakeholders.
The workshop aims to enhance coordination and foster multi-sectoral partnerships for effective action on childrenโs rights by bringing together key representatives from the Royal Government of Bhutan and civil society organizations.
This workshop is part of Bhutanโs ongoing effort to uphold the principles of the CRC and ensure a comprehensive, rights-based approach to addressing childrenโs needs and priorities.
