The Bhutanese delegation met with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation, led by First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council, Mr. Tario Humaid Altayer, to discuss strengthening parliamentary cooperation and diplomatic relations. Both sides reflected on the strong ties between Bhutan and the UAE since establishing diplomatic relations in 2012 and emphasized the need to enhance collaboration. The UAE delegation expressed interest in forming a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Bhutan and advocated for a unified Parliament in Asia to foster regional cooperation. The Hon’ble Speaker welcomed the initiative, reaffirming Bhutan’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and deeper legislative engagement. The meeting concluded with both delegations expressing their dedication to strengthening ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
On the sideline of the APA, the Bhutanese delegation also held bilateral discussions with the Indian delegation led by Hon. Kamakhya Prasad,Member of Lok Sabha from Assam.
