The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) conducted hearings with three agencies at the National Assembly Lhenzom Khangzang today as part of its preparation for the upcoming parliamentary session.
In the morning, PAC engaged with officials from Thimphu Dzongkhag and Thimphu Thromde to review numerous audit observations, assess status of action taken report and discuss time bound way forward. The hearing also provided opportunity for the auditees to share their ground issues and challenges in implementing numerous development activities, professional experiences and feedback to improve the overall working ecosystem. In the afternoon, PAC met with the officials of Bhutan Livestock Development Corporation Limited and discussed key issues and recommendations for consideration. PAC will continue its hearing tomorrow.
The PAC will present its Review Report of Annual Audit Report 2023-2024 and those unresolved irregularities from the previous annual audit reports in the upcoming summer session of the parliament for deliberation and consideration.
