His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo graced the closing ceremony of the Second Session of the Fourth Parliament today. The Speaker welcomed and expressed profound gratitude to His Majesty the King for gracing the closing ceremony and for His Majesty’s unwavering support and guidance to the Parliament. The Speaker expressed gratitude for His Majesty's visionary leadership for the country’s progress, and highlighted the remarkable initiatives undertaken by His Majesty for the welfare of the nation and its people. The Speaker also expressed gratitude to His Majesty for the successful passing out of the first batch of Gyelsups, numerous construction of the Dzongs and religion projects and other visionary initiatives.
The Prime Minister, the Chairperson of the National Council and the Leader of the Opposition also expressed motion of thanks to His Majesty for being recognised as an exemplary leader in the world and featuring in the Time Magazine, for granting Kidu to the people, for initiating and successful completion of the first batch of Gyalsung program, for the successful hosting of the Bhutan Innovation Forum and for the noble guidance and wise leadership. The ceremony concluded with the offering of Zhapten and Trashi-Moenlam by the Members of Parliament for the good health and well-being of His Majesty the King, the Royal Family members and continued peace, prosperity and security in the country.
