UNDP Resident Representative calls on the Hon’ble Speaker-DZ
Ms Azusa Kubota, Resident Representative, UNDP Bhutan made her departure call on to the Hon’ble Speaker. Ms Azusa was accompanied by Mr. Md Khurshid Alam, the Deputy Resident Representative and officials of UNDP. Hon'ble Speaker thanked UNDP for the dedicated service to the country and for the support for the Parliamentary activities. The Speaker has also shared that the National Assembly of Bhutan has begun the process for the Strategic Development Plan for 2023 - 2028.
During the discussion, they shared the importance of having gender equality and womens’ leadership. They have also discussed the role of Parliament in promoting inclusive legislation.
The Resident Representative shared about the great experiences Bhutan has bestowed on her making her stay in Bhutan a memorial one. She has also shared the rich experiences she has gained by reaching at grassroot level of the rural communities. UNDP has been granting financial support for rural development. She also emphasized UNDP's continuing support to the Parliament.
Speaker wished Ms Azusa best wishes for her future career.
