National Assembly concludes the deliberation on National Digital Identity Bill of Bhutan 2023-DZ
The Chairperson of the Good Governance Committee submitted the Committee’s additional recommendations on sub-section 4 of section 7, translation of ‘credential’ in Chapter 5’s title and a new provision aligned to section 60 as per the directives of the House and gained the support of the House. The House also supported the Committee’s additional recommendation to retain the original translation of “Governing body” and “Administrative body”.
The House also further deliberated on all the sections under chapter 12 on Offences and Penalties and Chapter 13 on Miscellaneous along with the Committee’s recommendations on it. The Committee was directed to look into sections 136 and 137 on liability and report back to the House on 19th June 2023 before the adoption of the Bill.
