Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bhutan calls on the Hon’ble Speaker-DZ

7th October 2022.  Ambassador Shahidul Karim of Bangladesh to Bhutan paid a farewell call on to the Hon’ble Speaker. Hon'ble Speaker welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him for successfully completing his tenure as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bhutan and wished him the best in his future career. Ambassador A.K.M. Shahidul Karim joined as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bhutan in January 2020. 

The Ambassador thanked the Hon’ble Speaker for the hospitality and expressed his deep appreciation and affection to the people of Bhutan for all the good memories during his stay in the country.

They held discussions on mutual bilateral cooperation that would further promote the relationships between the two countries. Besides the Preferential Trade Agreement endorsed by the Parliament, the scope for collaboration in areas such as hydropower, waterways, and Internet connectivity offered tremendous opportunities. They also noted the paramount role the two Parliaments could play in further consolidating the bond through Parliamentary Exchanges programs. 

The diplomatic relationship between Bhutan and Bangladesh was established on 12 May 1973.
