Students from Dechentsemo Central School School witness the Seventh Sitting of the National Assembly
A group of 11 students and 19 teachers from Dechentsemo Central School in Thinleygang Gewog, Punakha visited the Parliament and observed the sitting today as part of their Study Tour Programme. The school’s Democracy Club has been one of the most versatile clubs, conducting sensitization on democratic functions and student leader elections. The school has been looking forward to attending one of the parliamentary sessions to learn, experience, and gain an understanding of the protocols and traditional practices. During their visit, the Speaker and the Minister for the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) met with and interacted with the students and teachers.
Such visits are aimed at educating youth on parliamentary practices and provide a valuable opportunity for students to gain firsthand experience and insights into how parliamentary proceedings function, fostering a deeper understanding of democratic governance.
